Welcome to the Briggs School District’s website. Briggs District is an amazing learning community that was established in 1870 and consists of two schools serving 500 students in grades TK-8. It is located in the rural, agricultural community of Santa Paula, California.  It is approximately 65 miles west of Los Angeles in Ventura County at a midway point between the cities of Ventura and Santa Paula.  I am honored to serve the district as superintendent.

We look forward to starting the 2021-2022 school year in-person! Thursday, August 26, is the first day of school for Briggs School District schools. As we start this year we want to reassure families that the district is committed to quality education in a safe school setting. In order to ensure this, we are asking all families to follow the guidelines as outlined in our Family Resource Guide.

Our Board of Trustees, some with over 22 years as school board members, are committed to high-quality education, to strong district leadership, to providing a safe and secure learning environment, and to sustaining a culture of staff members that are passionate about education and who enthusiastically support all of the students in our school district.

I encourage parents, guardians, grandparents, and community members to visit our school sites when it is safe to do so to see the wonderful learning opportunities we offer. We know that students need parent support and invite parents to take an active role in their child’s education by building this partnership between school and home.

Respectfully,

Deborah Cuevas
