We look forward to starting the 2022-2023 school year on Thursday, August 25, 2022. This year we are pleased to offer full-day transitional kindergarten (TK)  for all four year olds who will turn five by June 2, 2023.

Our summer facilities projects include installing air conditioning in all areas of Briggs School. The cool air will be a welcome improvement for all students and staff. These changes will happen just in time for our new Briggs School incoming principal, Ms. Lindsay Winegar!

Briggs School District will have three (3) school board terms that will expire in November. To be eligible to run for office an individual must be at least 18 years of age, be a resident of the Briggs School District, be a registered voter in the State of California, and not be disqualified from holding civil office by the constitution or any law of the State of California. Interested individuals can go to the Ventura County Elections office website at

As we start this year, we want to reassure families that the district is committed to quality education in a safe school setting. We understand the concern you may have regarding COVID-19 and the variants that are currently active in our communities. We remain committed to following all federal, state and county guidelines and will keep all of you aware of any changes along the way.

I encourage parents, guardians, grandparents, and community members to visit our school sites when it is safe to do so to see the wonderful learning opportunities we offer. We know that students need parent support and invite parents to take an active role in their child’s education by building this partnership between school and home.
